I Think I Married a Witch - PT 1
It all started on a crisp autumn evening when I first met Elara. Her emerald eyes sparkled with a mysterious allure, and her laughter was like a melody that enchanted everyone around her. We fell in love quickly, and before I knew it, we were married.
At first, everything seemed perfect. Elara had a way of making the mundane magical. Our home was always filled with the scent of fresh herbs, and she had an uncanny ability to predict the weather. But soon, I began to notice things that were… unusual.
One night, I came home late from work to find Elara in the garden, surrounded by a circle of candles. She was chanting softly, and the air around her seemed to shimmer. When she saw me, she smiled and said she was just practicing some “old family traditions.”
Then there were the animals. Birds would perch on her shoulder, and stray cats would follow her around like she was their queen. She could heal a plant with a touch and always knew when someone was about to visit, even before they knocked on the door.
One evening, I decided to confront her. “Elara, are you… a witch?” I asked, half-jokingly.
She looked at me with those mesmerizing eyes and laughed. “What makes you think that?”
I listed all the strange occurrences, and she listened patiently. When I finished, she took my hand and said, “I come from a long line of women who have a special connection with nature. You might call it magic, but it’s just who I am.”
I was stunned. “So, you are a witch?”
She smiled. “If that’s what you want to call it. But remember, I use my abilities for good. To help, to heal, to protect.”
As I looked into her eyes, I realized that it didn’t matter what she was. I loved her for who she was, magic and all. From that day on, I embraced the enchantment she brought into our lives. After all, who wouldn’t want a little magic in their everyday life?
